Infoworks ! Launches Member E-Newsletter for Healthcare Management Association

For Immediate Release
March 4, 2004

BOSTON — Infoworks! has launched a new e-newsletter for the Healthcare Management Association (HMCA) designed to notify members of its upcoming events for healthcare executives in New England. The e-newsletter, which integrates with the association's web site also developed by Infoworks!, extends the web site's visual branding to the recipients' e-mail inboxes. The first issue promotes an upcoming breakfast meeting with noted healthcare economist Stuart Altman on March 12, 2004.

"Together the web site and e-newsletter give a public face to an organization with no real brick-and-mortar home, which is often the case with professional associations," said Amy Campbell who developed the electronic home for HCMA.

According to John Christoforo, Vice President of Clinical Support and Facilities for Partners HealthCare, and president of HCMA, “We wanted our communications to speak to and attract a high-level executive audience, as well as to reflect the quality of the events we offer. The graphic version of the newsletter gives our organization an awareness boost."

The system used to distribute the e-newsletter is able to detect the recipient's e-mail capabilities to know whether to send an HTML (graphic) version of the newsletter, or whether to send a simple, plain text version. It provides reports on how many emails were opened, how many users clicked through on which links, how many emails bounced back, and more. The newsletter is fully compliant with the recently enacted CAN-SPAM legislation, which imposes federal requirements on all e-mail marketing campaigns, including unsubscribe capabilities.

Campbell, is an award-winning e-newsletter developer who recently received the 2003 Your Honor Award in Electronic Media from the Legal Marketing Association for an e-newsletter she produces for the Concord, NH law firm Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell.

The Healthcare Management Association offers educational and networking events specifically focused for executive-level, health care managers in New England.
